An Annual Tradition
Every year it is traditional to
put up Christmas lights the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year is no
different. My husband started decorating with the lights around the house and
will probably get the rest of the decorations out tomorrow. Here’s a picture
taken with my cell phone. I’m Jewish, so I wanted blue and white for Israel and
Hanukah. We’ve had blue and white lights up for the past four years, but my
husband wanted red, white and blue to be patriotic this year. However, the
combination of the blue and red make purple, so it’s a little confusing. It
looks pretty, though. And, we’ve already gotten a lot of compliments on our
lights from our neighbors and friends on Facebook.
I’ve always loved Christmas
lights and enjoy driving through other neighborhoods to see their decorations
at night. My sister lives in a neighborhood that goes all out for the holiday
season! They close off streets and direct traffic in certain areas so there are
only pedestrians walking through the neighborhood. It’s a little crazy, but
really fun. I’m looking forward to seeing them next month. My sister also puts
up blue and white lights for Hanukah and so her house isn’t dark compared to
the rest of the street. It’s a sight to see.
The holiday season is upon us!
Enjoy it!

Nature is Painting

Many Blessings this Thanksgiving
I have so much to be thankful
for! My 99 year old grandmother is healthy, happy and able to join us to
celebrate Thanksgiving this year. My father had three stints put in his heart
on October 30th, went to work the following Monday and looks like nothing
ever happened! My sister had an angiogram done the Monday after Dad and looks
great! My mother is a cancer survivor 18 years and looks like a knockout! My other
sister is starting her new business and her 3 year old daughter is growing up
beautifully. Two of my cousins got engaged this year and are getting married in
2016, and my niece will be the flower girl. And, my mother in law was able to
join us this year. I lucked out with a wonderful mother in law. She’s so easy
to be with. She raised a loving son who is a great husband. Life is good.
