The color of these flowers stopped me in my tracks as I was
walking back to my car. The weather was cloudy and gray that morning, which you
might think would work against a photographer. The opposite is true, however.
Direct sunlight on a subject often washes out the color or details in the image
and the photo isn’t as impressive as it could be otherwise. Softer light on
subjects usually turns out better. And, clouds are like having a natural
diffuser over the subject that creates a softer light for you. There is no need
to carry extra equipment on a cloudy day.
