I was
substitute teaching at Malibu High School one day and had already turned in the
room keys and other materials to the office when I was walking back to my car.
I looked up across the small grass courtyard and saw the light on these orange
flowers. If I had waited or thought I’d take the picture another day, this
moment would have passed.
Even
though it was the end of the day, and I was tired after teaching, I took the
time to notice and enjoy these flowers. Many people, students and teachers
alike, had walked by these same flowers all day and never noticed them. Take
time to appreciate nature, even if it is landscaped. Some of the prettiest
flowers are right in front of you.
